Provincial Education Programme

The Provincial Education Programme is designed to deepen the education capacity and extend the educators’ reach by supporting worker educators to be able to serve others.

In pursuing the DITSELA provincial strategy, the organization has scheduled needs analysis meetings in 4 provinces and provincial schools in the 4 provinces.

Phase 1: Needs Analysis

DITSELA is endeavouring to refine its provincial education work that will support the strengthening of workers and stewards at the local level. Thus, the organization wishes to deepen its approach to finding out about cross-cutting education needs of trade unions in the respective provinces.

Phase 2: Provincial Schools

Once the needs analysis has been done on all the provinces, DITSELA will start the process of material development based on the outcomes of the needs-analysis conducted. Each of province shall have four courses targeting 120 participants in each province.  Recruitment & Organising will be compulsory in all of our provincial schools, and will form part of the four courses. This is in line with DITSELA focus for 2024.

Phase 3: Train the Trainer

The aim is to produce efficient and effective skilled trainers on Workshop Planning . The course also works on ensuring that participants are introduced to Adult Learning Theories and assists in developing participants on Facilitation Skills and planning on PEP roll-outs.

Phase 4: PEP

In 2024, trade unionists will be trained as PEP educators in previously provincial schools in KZN, Western Cape & Mpumalanga. The aim is to extend the reach of trade union education, enabling even the furthest towns and cities to access it. These provincial educators will pilot their skills in a Rural School in their provinces, supported by DITSELA facilitators.
